Our “daydreams” here at ACSI seems to always turn into “PIPE DREAMS”!
Different kinds of pipes in a facility can extend up through a building pipe chase, through a basement mechanical room, or down into/through a multi-level parking lot garage.
Depending on the facility – pipes may also be run outdoors – exposed to all the elements! This last scenario can really take its toll on the external pipe surfaces, especially if they are not insulated or protected in any way.
We seem to run across more steam pipe problems (leaks), where outdoor piping is installed.
(Based on 100 PSI Steam Pressure (assuming steam costs at $5.00 / 1000 lbs. of steam). Did you know that ¼ inch leak = 210,000 Lbs. of steam wasted in ONE month @ $1,050.00 / month…..OR $12,600.00 total cost per year!
My point here is: Addressing and fixing these steam leaks can add up to significant savings! FAST!
The payback time can be very short…In some cases – in one month!
If you need any help assessing your particular situation, give us a call…
